All the same, it would be nice to have mapcan in the Emacs core. It is such a basic useful function. Not having mapcan available at runtime (in combination with other circumstances) got me horribly confused, causing me to commit buggy files, not only to the Emacs repository but also to the CC Mode project at SourceForge.
