It is very valid to work only towards improving Emacs in its current form without fundamental changes, making it a more pleasant experience for the stable user base.=C2=A0 Especially for people who aren't into programming, and can't be expected to fix their environmental all the time.=C2=A0 Making fundamental changes to expand user base is the risky mov= e and what would be the gain apart from ideological significance; bragging rights? If it is to be done though, new things must be tried. A "Do. Or do not. There is no try." situation if you will. Like ditching GTK altogether.=C2=A0 Maybe it will instead attract contribut= ors that value knowing what goes under the hood, and would much rather spend time with documentation of Wayland?=C2=A0 Passion for computing is the common ground for Emacs users after all.
