That is a good point. Actually, I think that the news entry will be more "successful" if people will find/grep the mentioned Emacs variable in some of Emacs' lisp files. Therefore, I would suggest to add the NEWS entry after the following has been done: 1. make python-mode respect the vars, at least the first two elements (I currently working on this - I will send a proposal to this list) 2. make cc-mode respect the vars (I plan to work on it after 1) 3. update antlr-mode.el which will benefit from it. I will first update just the sources in http://antlr-mode.sourceforge.net/.
