This conflates privacy with security. If I want to pass my computer to someone else (a common practice in pair programming, to pick one example), but I want to clear out some sensitive info first, it shouldnt be hard to do. Making the emacs shell interface work like a non-emacs shell interface seems like a perfectly reasonable thing to do (especially since eshell already lets you hide the previous context simply by hitting C-l C-l). ~Chad
