This just all smells of the debacle of pcase... Some _other_ mechanism to pick between CC Mode and c-ts-mode ... or whatever should exist, while respecting others namespaces. If one was to introduce a dired-ts .. and M-x dired "magically" decides between one or the other, people would be just as angry.
