Android support is of secondary importance _to us_, for various reasons, one being that it is a nonfree system and not worthy of being treated as having high importance. If we want to make a release, and the support for Android has a bug that nobody around can fix at the time, I think we should (1) announce widely that we seek someone to fix this problem, (2) wait around a month or so, then (3) make the release with a note in it describing the problem. In the announcement we should explain that Android is a nonfree system and thus morally should not have highest priority, with suitable references to further info. Teaching that idea is an important part of our mission. -- Dr Richard Stallman (https://stallman.org) Chief GNUisance of the GNU Project (https://gnu.org) Founder, Free Software Foundation (https://fsf.org) Internet Hall-of-Famer (https://internethalloffame.org)
