No special option needed, I believe. The new option I propose would allow a user to direct Emacs, with just one action, to use Org mode automatically every time, for those files. The method of typing M-x org-mode by hand would require the user to do that explicitly _each time_ each time perse visits one of these files. It might seem at first to "do the job", but really it does a different job. When you suggest a different solution to some problem, please _explain_ how your solution relates to the problem. That will enable people to understand and see if it is really solves the same problem. -- Dr Richard Stallman Chief GNUisance of the GNU Project (https://gnu.org) Founder, Free Software Foundation (https://fsf.org) Internet Hall-of-Famer (https://internethalloffame.org)
