I am very glad. However, another message reminded me that the maintainer's responsibility includes some other practical tasks that relate to the GNU Project's philosophy, that I forgot about when writing my previous message. I had better correct that omission now. They include (1) making sure we have copyright papers from substantial contributors, (2) keeping track of authorship of contributions, and (3) on rare occasions implementing or maintaining code to support either the GPL requirements (as in the case of dynamic linking) or informing people about the philosophy (such as the command C-h g) I can't be absolutely sure I haven't omitted anything else. If there are any other such tasks, they would in any case be practical tasks, like those above. I am making everything clear and explicit, modulo the imperfections of my memory. -- Dr Richard Stallman President, Free Software Foundation (gnu.org, fsf.org) Internet Hall-of-Famer (internethalloffame.org) Skype: No way!
