My intended use of libmagic is as a sidekick to magic-mode-alist, so
very much used by find-file.
Depending on libmagic is too much price to pay for saving a small
amount of work. It's better to do the small amount of work needed to
recognize the few file types we want to recognize, using the existing
mechanisms.
