Hi,

Please write in English if possible, because the Emacs maintainers
usually do not have translators to read other languages for them.

Your bug report will be posted to the emacs-pretest-bug@gnu.org mailing
list.

Please describe exactly what actions triggered the bug
and the precise symptoms of the bug:

Starting Emacs as root gives me a segmentation fault. Current HEAD
from 29 May 2008 13:00 CEST. Text mode works fine, also running as a
normal user.

I can't reproduce this. Does it also crash with `emacs -Q'?

I thought my root/.emacs was empty...but it wasn't. It crashes with
the following statement:

(custom-set-faces
;; custom-set-faces was added by Custom.
;; If you edit it by hand, you could mess it up, so be careful.
;; Your init file should contain only one such instance.
;; If there is more than one, they won't work right.
'(default ((t (:stipple nil :background "#ffffff" :foreground
"#000000" :inverse-video nil :box nil :strike-through nil :overline
nil :underline nil :slant normal :weight semi-bold :height 120 :width
normal :family "adobe-courier")))))

I confirmed the bug. I'm now working on it.

I wonder if this is related to the problem where Emacs locks up hard
when doing M-: (set-face-font 'default "Bitstream Vera Sans Mono-11")
RET. That one has been present ever since the new font backend code was
merged to HEAD about a month ago.

I think I fixed it. Could you please try again in your
