csupport for vcards is a good thing, as a general matter.
This program looks mostly good, but it needs better
overall documentation before one can easily understand it.

Here are some of the questions that the documentation at the top needs
to answer:

One page is labeled as "filters".  What does a "filter" mean in this
context?

Another page is labeled as "decoding methods".  What does a "decoding
method" mean in this context?

What does this file do with vcards that it reads?
Does it store them somewhere, or does it just return them
as the value of a function?

What are the main entry points and what do they do?
