    Can't reproduce it here with the latest Emacs CVS trunk code and with "emacs
    -nw -Q" instead of "emacs -nw -q".

Leo, can you reproduce it with the latest code?
If so, can you please put a breakpoint at each of the two
lines in process.c that does

	  if (--num_pending_connects < 0)

and make a backtrace each time it gets to one?
