I thought the purpose of NEWS was to be a somewhat terse overview? If I am going to update the manual based on NEWS, NEWS has to contain all the information I need in order to do this. At least for now. We could delete some of it later. If someone else updates the manual now, so it need not be done from NEWS, then a more terse entry in NEWS would be adequate.
