    Leo has reported some strange freezes related to buffer switching
    with ido-mode enabled.

    Here's the result of looking at the process when emacs hangs.
    He's using Emacs 23.  

    Anyone want to look into this?

This is really strange.  Leo, can you try single-stepping by
instructions?  The pc must be somewhere.
