It should not be used for "keychords". Thus, the correct way to refer to typing TAB while holding down META is @kbd{M-@key{TAB}}. And the way to refer in the text to typing just TAB is _always_ with @key{TAB}. Karl, if this isn't clear in the Texinfo manual, could you clarify it?
