There is no harm in using the customization buffer in any way except to set the variable. So please install that. The text occurs _next to the State button_. "Use only if" refers to the State button. Actually, that isn't clear. "NO CUSTOMIZATION DATA" refers to the variable, not to the State button. Thus, "use" seems to refer to the variable, not to the State button. Changing "use" to "set this" confirms that it refers to the variable, removing any uncertainty, and thus prevents misunderstandings.
