But have they been fixed? I think not. Would someone like to work on this? I have done that in http://ourcomments.org/Emacs/DL/elisp/test/bw.el. It now checks for Kim's patch and uses that if it is available (as `window-split-tree'). The code not to be cleaned up a bit.
