A variable defined using a defcustom without a :group _is_ in a group, the `nil' group: Isn't it a bug for a defcustom to lack a :group? I'm not saying that case should get an error. Perhaps putting it in the `nil' group is a useful way to find these cases so we can fix them. But shouldn't they all be changed to have groups?
