Hi,
I tried using the precompiled version of Emacs for Windows available at
http://ftp.gnu.org/gnu/windows/emacs/
Both the following 21.X versions have high CPU usage on my machine,
anywhere from 11
to 98% of the CPU even when nothing is being done with emacs.
emacs-21.2-fullbin-i386.tar.gz
emacs-21.1-fullbin-i386.tar.gz
I have been using 20.3.1 prior to this and that was fine.
I have now reverted to 20.7 and that is fine too.
Regards.
