I don't think it stops it or makes it impossible. We have had some successful examples of collecting assignments in packages with even more significant contributors than solarized. Having only taken a cursory glance, my first impression is that collecting the assignments looks a bit easier. I'd personally encourage you to give it a go. :-) PS.
