In trying to clean up cpio-mode, I'd like to get the "check" target in the
Makefile working. Unfortunately, it looks like prompts still go to stdout
when I run emacs -batch.... I was expecting them to be handled by setting
unread-commands-events. Since I'm seeing (at least some) prompts, it looks
like (at least sometimes) nothing is being read from unread-commands events.
Given the interactive nature of emacs applications, I find it hard to
believe that I'm the only person who's been frustrated by this. Any advice?
