FWIW emacs of Mac OS X (any of the versions I tried before just installing debian on my macbook) have significantly degraded buffer performance compared to Linux. I believe bugs were filed about it but most of the core dev team don't have a mac to test on. If you do any heavy buffer updating (like using emacs as a terminal emulator) you can actually slow down the process creating the output. So no, even from a practical sense you would not have a nicer experience in MacOS IMHO. --=-=-= Content-Type: application/pgp-signature; name="signature.asc" -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v2 iQIcBAEBCAAGBQJWgtezAAoJEFJw6mniKuelxZYQAJdjZQ8F/W26yFRWI3WXrkzQ 78hLdUWT9OPZcjc91SK6nzv/Gta+uG7T5sxw8yCWnTdur3tyuW5eAeFa/SjFDgKI u1Th2lGKf4M9iMvClSZ9FpGh4m1TebWqGaAMqqZsDR7HQEpEVHuudhNqhbJOWKyY YuSXn/a6oz8tqJHVzWS7rmBSS4cJL5UpmndJsdJqxZEZYMzTEG2mBGqmJn9x0NNF PwRBE1aoBh7HGeC3PqzgZHzhUO1C6cV9pnKqmOFyF+uY3JtdB+XelI/hwaYz9jB1 Nlu4uMWv4N12kDG0PjX8++5fTjv4WDsftqZ5FTl+cv65bm2KKEoAyiBJv+ZpNQBO jZK7bSweXHWZEFwEqhRW8Hgq0so2CSnoV/39p+t7RbsIFzzT2L7Qv8xoQfJ7cAPq 9h51GYB+e3h6+rKpZGyhYtOXzmlFM8YttHlRJ3zwr1IrsTw9IDp2VTCGDAaxR5+L rkdzMgxUG/bYmBrswImd/kgVLdv7ShYZJFehrQNJPUGU4qxLSBk4HrIVcGzU8lHr b7hPUjsFxHRuLdUwXljjGs6vSmBA7az2xbjDe6xLjDM3dlb2JyvWw5eXinCeTPG1 TLX0t04sKSV119uTDEEjqv/4W9u84lAaU+PLp1IuAe3s0MEZr9l8YWQcobeR6aba cySJlHl52EcEkUAL4vfq =NNm6 -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- --=-=-=--
