the root dir has a .dir-locals.el that warns of risky local variables,
could someone fix that -- hate to answer y there

If you rebuild Emacs, the warning should go away.

OK, thanks. The warning bit after I did a git pull and tried to look
at the logs using magit.
Incidentally, it would be useful if emacs could explicitly say which
specific variable it is complaining/warning about --Lars Ingebrigtsen writes:
