Hello,
I was surprised to find that `reduce' is part of cl.el but not core
elisp. I read about Richard Stallman's reservations about introducing
utility functions with keyword arguments because they complicate the
interface. I agree with this and wonder what the emacs maintainers
would think of putting `foldl' and `foldr' functions in core elisp
instead.
