Hi all,
when I do `C-x C-f ~/.emacs RET' I get the error below.
--8<---------------cut here---------------start------------->8---
Debugger entered--Lisp error: (wrong-type-argument arrayp nil)
file-truename(nil)
find-buffer-visiting(nil)
vc-follow-link()
vc-find-file-hook()
run-hooks(find-file-hook)
after-find-file(nil t)
find-file-noselect-1(#<buffer .emacs> "~/.emacs" nil nil "~/repos/configs/dot-emacs.el" (11732594 2051))
find-file-noselect("~/.emacs" nil nil t)
find-file("~/.emacs" t)
call-interactively(find-file nil nil)
--8<---------------cut here---------------end--------------->8---
The file ~/.emacs is a symlink to ~/repos/configs/dot-emacs.el and its
directory is a git repository (or a working copy, to be correct).
This happens only the first time I visit that symlink. Any subsequent
find-file (after killing the file's buffer first) works as expected.
Finding another symlink shows the same behavior: first an error, then it
works. The symlink has to point to a vc controlled file.
Unfortunately, I cannot reproduce this problem with emacs -Q, and there
`vc-find-file-hook' is in `find-file-hook', too. But I can tell that
change which introduced it has been made in the last 3 days.
Any pointers?
Bye,
Tassilo
