_optional_ newlines.
Thanks for the link. I see that the ‘linebreak’ production:
linebreak : newline_list
| /* empty */
;
includes possibility of expanding to nothing, and wonder (idly)
if that was always the case. Somehow i have the impression its
optionality is "new".
