Subject: Unusable font on Emacs 23
Date: Mon, 17 Mar 2008 17:29:42 -0400	[thread overview]
Message-ID: <87d4pt3upl.fsf@stupidchicken.com> (raw)

Sorry if this has been discussed before; I haven't been following the
font-related stuff closely.

When I use the following font in .Xresources, Emacs does not display
ordinary characters: they all appear as 1px spaces. Strangely enough,
certain font-locked characters, like the scratch message, continue to
be displayed.

 Emacs.Font: -misc-fixed-medium-*-*-*-14-*-*-*-*-*-*-*

To reproduce:

 emacs -q
C-x k RET (kill startup screen)
 asdfghj

Anyone know what this is about?
