The variable `eldoc-echo-area-use-multiline-p' only affects what ElDoc
does for Elisp code but does not truncate the return value of a
customized `eldoc-documentation-function'.
It should either affect the return value, or its docstring should
mention explicitly that other modes customizing ElDoc cannot rely on it.
