Using today's git pull for emacs-30.0.50

1. emacs -Q <RET>
2. C-x C-f think-of-a-word.org <RET>

This gives "File mode specification error:
(error Org version mismatch. Make sure that correct
‘load-path’ is set early in init.el)", together with a recommendation
to put "(straight-use-package 'org) early in the config. Id"

Surely "emacs -Q" shouldn't require any init files?

Colin Baxter.

TL;DR: make bootstrap

See https://debbugs.gnu.org/cgi/bugreport.cgi?bug=62762

No need for such drastic measures. It's enough to say

  $ rm lisp/org/*.elc && make -jN

I hit this a week ago and eEli responded with an immediate fix, remove
all *.elc files in the org directory and rebuild. That said, I hope the
org team can fix this breakage -- and more importantly fix that
strangely misleading message it displays when this breakage happens.

Also tangentially but in the hope of avoiding more breakages, org
appears to load a lot more of itself by default than it likely needs to
--- e.g. I dont use any of the ob-* modules until much later in my Emacs
session, but a lot of those modules appear to load right at startup.

Yes, that worked. I normally remove all *.elc files before I make
org-mode from git, but failed to understand that stale *.elc can also
inhabit the org-mode that comes built-in to emacs.

Thanks.

This breakage has been fixed as much as we could - see the discussion in
https://debbugs.gnu.org/cgi/bugreport.cgi?bug=62762. Org versions checks
since the commit associated with bug#62762 are disabled.

What is left is Emacs builds upgrading from a commit coming before
bug#62762 fix. Those cannot be addressed easily. And I do not think that
they should - make bootstrap is needed from time to time anyway after
git pull, even without Org.

See `org-babel-load-languages'. It is documented in "16.9 Languages"
section of the Org manual. By default, only elisp babel support is
loaded + core babel libraries.
