For from inside Emacs:
What I've found is that putting the buffer in dired-virtual-mode (from
dired-x) and then setting

(setq directory-listing-before-filename-regexp "^\*? *")

...means that you can use it just like a dired buffer. So type t and F
to visit all the files.
