I think that in fact someone arriving at "Cut and Paste" knowing very little about Emacs would be generally confused by mere mentions of those concepts when cut/copy/paste are so much more intuitive. The parent does explain that Emacs can do the simple operations but has a more powerful notion than the "cut" implemented in most GUI applications.
