Well, info buffers work, but are not really popular. I've written
some bits of speedbar integration, which seem to be the way to go.

We have the code, but no other languages then English right now.

Most useful is erc-track imho, and a nice addition is erc-button, which
allows to buttonize based on regexps.
I've also written erc-speak, which integrates with emacspeak for continuus
channel reading.
