Agreed.

My testing on Debian 8 shows no problem with bash, zsh, tcsh, csh, mksh,
yash, or rc.  Since it appears to be just a problem with ksh, I'd be
fine with documenting the issue and workaround (in PROBLEMS, I guess,
next to the other shell-related issues).
