Having a rough prototype of an implementation would still be useful to have, to get a better felling of what the macro should look and feel like. An advantage of `pcase' (as with Emacs) is that it is extensible and can be adapted to new needs. My fear is that if `cond*' is conjured up in our minds, it is easy to misunderstand the needs in practice, or if it really will be easier to use. E.g. from reading your messages, I am still not sure how `cond*' and `match' are supposed to interact with one another.
