Just now in Rmail I typed SPC (which scrolled one screen down
and put point at the top line), then 1 r Thanks. C-c C-c
which sent a message. After control returned to Rmail,
it recentered point.

I've tried typing the same things, with the same message, and thus the
same screen contents, but it has not failed again.

Damned frustrating!

Has anyone else seen such a problem?

Sometimes recentering happens with a delay, maybe due to cursor
blinking, maybe to fontification.

It is not really reproducible. I won't rule out that it may be
connected with mouse highlighting.

I use Emacs on a tty, and that is where the problem happens,
so it can't be due to mouse highlighting.
