The quality of the code becomes better, the quality of documentation becomes better, the integration with other Emacs facilities becomes better, and as a bonus you get some of our loving care for your package even when you for some reasons of Real Life become temporarily unavailable. It's a net win for everyone. And yes, it requires to invest some effort on discussions, something not very efficient ones, such as this one. Do you really think we enjoy them? or participate without investing time and efforts from our side?
