This pretest builds okay on the following platforms:

  Linux fencepost 2.6.26-2-xen-amd64 #1 SMP Wed Jan 13 00:12:41 UTC 2010 x86_64 GNU/Linux
    with gcc (GCC) 4.2.4 (Ubuntu 4.2.4-1ubuntu4)

  windows32 home-c4e4a596f7 2.5.1 2600 i786-pc Intel unknown MinGW
    with gcc (GCC) 3.4.2 (mingw-special) and MinGW 3.14

  MS-DOS HOME-C4E 5 50 pc unknown
    with gcc.exe (GCC) 3.4.4 and DJGPP v2.03

(The MS-Windows build was patched to fix the movemail link failure,
using the patch installed on the trunk by Juanma.)
