No, search problems have not been solved, AFAIK, and I have no idea what else can be done to solve them. If you ask me, I suggest that interested people download the archives (each month can be downloaded as a single mbox file) and archive them locally, using some search software, like mairix or another. But please! don't add more topics to this discussion, which already wasted enough time and bandwidth without any positive results.
