We are likely talking about different things. I'm talking about the highlighting done by Grep mode, when you go to the next/previous hit. For me, it highlights only the match found by Grep the program. I think xref-find-references is similar to Grep, in that it looks for matches to a known string/regexp, so IWBNI it highlighted the match. > Maybe we should also adjust pulse-delay and pulse-iterations.
