Many, if not most, of the index entries, certainly those in the Concept Index, cannot be found anywhere in the text. They are concepts and phrases that the reader could have in mind when she searches for some specific material without knowing its exact wording. There's no way you can search for that. And, of course, you cannot easily search the printed manual. But that's secondary.
