This seems to be similar to problem reported on October (see thread
"mouse-face redisplay messy on Windows XP x64 Edition", on
emacs-pretest-bug) which you felt was not worth fixing at this time. Now, I
would love to see this fixed but let's make sure its a priority before the
release.
