The value of srcdir is ".". And a "cd ." on W2K using MSVC gives and error:
cd .; makeinfo pgg.texi
The system cannot find the path specified.
NMAKE : fatal error U1077: 'cd' : return code '0x1'
Stop.
NMAKE : fatal error U1077: 'C:\PROGRA~1\MICROS~2\VC98\BIN\NMAKE.EXE' :
return code '
Stop.
To avoid this, I had to remove the 'cd' part.
