I'm seeing this right now while building Emacs:
In toplevel form:
eshell/esh-mode.el:63:1:Error: Required feature `esh-groups' was not provided
Compiling eshell/esh-module.el
In toplevel form:
eshell/esh-module.el:28:1:Error: Required feature `esh-groups' was not provided
Compiling eshell/esh-opt.el
In toplevel form:
eshell/esh-opt.el:27:30:Error: Required feature `esh-groups' was not provided
Compiling eshell/esh-proc.el
In toplevel form:
eshell/esh-proc.el:29:13:Error: Required feature `esh-groups' was not provided
Compiling eshell/esh-test.el
... and so on for almost all eshell source files.

Same here. I made the following change locally just to get Emacs to
compile:

Please read INSTALL.CVS, or search the mailing list archives for
numerous instances of this non-problem.
