Subject: Problems in the build of Emacs-CVS 23.0.50
Date: Thu, 24 Jan 2008 17:13:42 +0100	[thread overview]
Message-ID: <4798B936.2010706@alice.it> (raw)

The following happens both on Cygwin and GNU/Linux Kubuntu 7.10.

With last CVS-23.0.50 configuring with

../configure --prefix=${prefix_dir} --with-x-toolkit=lucid

the result is:

...
Should Emacs use the GNU version of malloc? yes
Should Emacs use a relocating allocator for buffers? yes
Should Emacs use mmap(2) for buffer allocation? no
What window system should Emacs use? x11
What toolkit should Emacs use? LUCID
Where do we find X Windows header files?
/usr/X11R6/include
Where do we find X Windows libraries? /usr/X11R6/lib
   Does Emacs use -lXaw3d? yes
   Does Emacs use -lXpm? no
   Does Emacs use -ljpeg? no
   Does Emacs use -ltiff? no
Does Emacs use a gif library? no
   Does Emacs use -lpng? no
   Does Emacs use -lrsvg-2? no
   Does Emacs use -lgpm? no
Does Emacs use X toolkit scroll bars? yes
...

With CVS of 20080120 all worked fine using the above configure.

Should we really configure adding, now, --with-gif,tiff,... ?

It would be very annoying!

Cheers,
    Angelo.
