It looks like the isearch feature "isearch-allow-scroll" is not aware of the
rebinding of C-l from recenter to recenter-top-bottom.

I  evaluated:
(put 'recenter-top-bottom 'isearch-scroll t)


And now C-l during isearch continues to search, as it did when C-l was bound
to recenter.
