I've been playing with the latest CVS build of Emacs from last night and
setnu.el ...
Has there been any discussion on a vertical bar line number mode similar
to setnu.el which uses the fringe?
The current overlay mechanism that setnu.el uses is fragile and can be
prone to error and buffer corruption. I had to stop using it forever
because it kept moving overlays from the left bar into my document.
