Some other character would have to be provided instead as a way of terminating a search and doing nothing else. C-D was suggested, but I don't like it. I'd like to hear other suggestions. 2) Make C-O do what C-A C-O Tab does now. 3) Also, how many people now find it useful or desirable that Return eats up blank lines? This feature was invented in the days when terminals did not have insert/delete line.
