Unfortunately not. My system has harfbuzz 3.0.0 and the font file I
acquired is probably from the 2017 release:
87260 Mar 24  2020 NotoSansKaithi-Regular.ttf
My output is linear.
hb-view --font-file=$HOME/.fonts/NotoSansKaithi-Regular.ttf --text-file=12.txt --output-file 12.png

I'll try updating hb later.
