Looking at the SVG (the source, I mean), this 'embedding' of the PNG happens via an xlink, like so: xlink:href='/home/joe/tools_for_thought/Tft1st.png I actually doubt You, Eli, have a directory /home/joe in your computer (but I could be wrong :) The resolution of that URL will, AFAIK, depend on quite a bit of context (it is a path-absolute URL), but I might be wrong.
