I see that there is Tandem where this was discused: https://github.com/typeintandem/tandem/issues/125 But I don't know the current status. It was an attempt for an emacs plugin: https://github.com/jscheid/tandem-emacs But it required many external dependencies (node.js and python) and also where some license issues.
